

The mission of the Irving Advisory Committee on Disabilities is to be a contact and a voice for the citizens of the City of Irving to the City Council on matters pertaining to disability issues in the City of Irving. The Irving Advisory Committee on Disabilities has recognized 12 students for their artwork as part of National Disability Awareness Month. Mayor Beth Van Duyne presented the awards during the Oct. 6 City Council meeting.

The Irving City Council created the Advisory Committee on Disabilities in 1999 to serve as a contact and voice of residents with disabilities, and to review and discuss matters referred to the committee by the City Council and the city manager. The committee also provides recommendations to the council on matters pertaining to disability issues in the city. Committee members serve the community for two-year terms, with a maximum of three terms.
